CFI 

 

Certified Flight instructors (CFI) are highly skilled pilots who have special ratings that allow them to teach others how to fly. This course is designed to allow commercial pilots or Airline Transport Pilots to become aviation instructors, capable of leading new pilots to success during their aviation training. Flight instructors build experience, knowledge, skills and flight time, while getting compensation.

​Requirements 

​ 

  • Be at least 18 years of age. 

  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language. 

  • Hold a Commercial Pilot certificate and  

  • at least a third class medical certificate.

  • Have logged at least 250 hours (200 for helicopters) and the required training for the CFI rating per FAA regulations 

  • Pass the FAA Fundamental of Instructing Knowledge Test 

  • Pass the FAA Written Knowledge Test 

  • Pass the FAA Practical Test 

  • Obtain sufficient Dual Instruction to gain proficiency (No Minimum Hours)
